Making Bullets:

- The band had only been together for 3 months, Frank had only joined two days before going into the studio

- Concept: 2 lovers on the run with a trunk full of ammunition
- G has a hole in his tooth and an abscess in the hole – made singing painful
- 2 music videos:
- Vampires: shows band playing in suits interspersed with clips of vampires
- Honey: guy gets tortured by his girlfriend with needles
Touring On Bullets:
- First van bought by Gerard and Mikey’s grandma
- Had very little money/food – had to ask the bands they were supporting for food
- Frank got a scorpion tattoo on his neck so he couldn’t get a real job
- Mikey and Frank dropped out of college
- Brian Schecter became their manager on February 17 2003
- Took Shaun Simon on tour with them to sell merch
- Went on tour with The Used in Europe in the first half of March 2003
- First big break was playing in support of Jimmy Eat World in Allentown
- Gerard was featured in SPIN magazine in 2003
- Signed to Reprise Records on August 31 2003
- Started writing material for second album mid-2003
